Success is always taken with a grain of salt. Live by it. Cherish it. Love it. Grow from it.
Growing up as a Southern Californian girl in Sunny San Diego, I was an only child who wandered through life observing the world around her. Granted, I had two amazing and unconditionally loving parents that were the world to me and set the example.
However, although I was set with a solid foundation, upbringing and all around model citizen environment filled with amazing, successful and inspirational people in it, I always seemed to feel like I was craving more. Sometimes, we tend to get that feeling of constantly “wanting more” when we tend to forget the little things in between our busy schedules that we are blessed with. Whenever you have anxious tendencies or stress that starts to arise in your life, PAUSE.
Take a moment to breathe. Step back and observe the environment around you and do the following:
- Count/List down 5 things that you’re thankful for
- Acknowledge the top 3 people in your life you feel has impacted your life in a positive way
- Do at least one act of kindness to put a smile on someone’s face who seems down or is in need of help
- BBT: Be courteous,Be grateful, & Treat others as you’d like to be treated
- BE SAVVY: Turn your name into a positive, self loving acronym or call to action phrase. For example, this just my phrase of the day:
- S-avor
- A-nything
- V-aluable and
- V-eer
- Y-earning
If you want more details on my little call to action phrase I made for my nickname above, it’s just simply this: Obtaining inner peace and self love can be tough sometimes when we tend to let the littlest, dumbest things bother us in life (like someone cutting you off on the freeway or cutting you in line at YOUR FAVORITE FOOD SPOT WHEN YOU ARE HANGRY. hehe, I swear this didn’t happen to me today either…). Anywho, so whenever you’re feeling stressed, just remember this: You’re too blessed to be stressed.
If you’re hangry and your boss wants you to finish a project ASAP or do a task for a deadline, don’t sweat it. If someone yells or flips you off on the freeway, don’t sweat it. If you chip your nail and the whole thing almost comes off, don’t sweat it. HONESTLY, bottom line: We all have things we can easily choose to complain about and make it our problems, but at the end of the day, what do you want to choose? Either dwell on all the sadness/negativity or choose JOY.
You decide.
Don’t forget, keep it Savvy, Guys!
Cheers,
~Savanah(:
